Erik Holt

Vice President, Business Development and Land

Erik, a licensed attorney, serves as Vice President of Business Development and Land, where he directs the company’s land, legal and business development efforts. Before joining Teal, Erik was Chief Operating Officer of CP Exploration (CPX), a private operator focused in the Permian Basin. While with CPX, Erik sourced, negotiated and drafted several transactions related to the company’s growth efforts, including purchase and sale agreements, lease agreements and a farmout and joint development agreement with a blue-chip public operator that established the company’s platform in the Delaware Basin. 

Prior to CPX, Erik was the Manager of Business Development and Marketing of Petro Harvester Oil & Gas, LLC, a private E&P company backed by TPG Capital, where he helped lead efforts in completing more than $500 million acquisitions, as well as being responsible for marketing the company’s oil and gas production of more than 7,000 boe/d.  Erik had initially joined Petro Harvester as Land Manager, where he oversaw all land functions for the Gulf Coast region, comprising more than 50,000 net acres and approximately 500 operated wells.

Erik earned his Juris Doctorate from Texas Tech University School of Law and his Bachelor of Science from the University of Texas at Austin.  He is a member of the Oil, Gas and Energy Law Section of the State Bar of Texas, ADAM Energy Forum and IPAA.
